Reflection on informative tool
ICT as an informative tool refers to the use of various technologies, such as computers, the internet, digital media, software, and telecommunication systems, to collect, store, process, share, and communicate information. Eg LMS, Social medias, databases, websites, multimedia, etc.
The tool I have chosen as informative tool is Khan Academy which is one of the social media tool .Khan Academy is a well-known educational platform that offers free learning resources to people around the world, covering subjects like math, science, economics, arts, and even test questions for exam preparations. . As an informative tool, it has helped millions of students, teachers, and self-learners. It does have strengths and weaknesses as all other tools. One of the most significant strength of Khan Academy is, it’s free of cost. Anyone with an internet connection can access high-quality lessons without paying any money. This is especially helpful for students in low-income families or countries where education resources are limited. It gives equal access and opportunity to learn and get knowledge, which is very powerful. Secondly, the strong point is how content is presented and delivered. Most lessons are in video format with simple explanations. The teachers, especially Sal Khan, speak in a clear and friendly way. The videos break down complex topics into smaller parts, making it easier to understand. There are also practice questions and quizzes that help students check their learning. This active learning style keeps students engaged. Khan Academy also allows learners to go at their own pace. If someone doesn’t understand a topic, they can watch the video again or do extra practice. There is no pressure or time limit, which reduces stress and supports deeper learning. The platform even tracks your progress and gives feedback to help you improve.
Therefore, I recommend this app and also a website to everyone who is facing trouble in learning. Its for teachers, college students and all the school students.
